A jet ski rider missing off the coast of Mazotos was successfully rescued by the Marine Police on Sunday. The incident unfolded in the Larnaca district, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
At approximately 1.40pm on August 17, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) activated the “Nearchos” national rescue plan after receiving reports about the missing individual. The urgency of the situation led to a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies.

The operation deployed patrol boats from the maritime police alongside a helicopter from the Cyprus police aviation unit. Additionally, a foot patrol from the Kiti police station was part of the comprehensive search and rescue efforts.
After an intense search, the missing jet ski rider was located and rescued by a Marine Police vessel at around 2.25pm. They were brought safely ashore, marking the successful conclusion of the rescue mission.
