paphos fire — paphos fire — A fire has broken out in Paphos, prompting a swift response from firefighting teams. The blaze ignited on Sunday between the communities of Kili and Stroumbi, leading to a well-coordinated effort to contain the flames.
According to Andreas Kettis, a spokesman for the fire service, the response includes seven fire trucks from the Paphos district. The fire service has also deployed additional resources, such as two fire engines and a specialist team from the Emak unit, trained to navigate challenging terrain.
The firefighting effort is further supported by the forestry department, which has contributed one fire engine and two earthmovers. Two additional earthmovers have been leased from the provincial administration to assist in controlling the fire. A water tanker has also been mobilised to supply much-needed water to the frontline firefighters.
In a bid to gain the upper hand on the blaze, a helicopter from the air operations unit is en route to assist with aerial firefighting. The fire service has also called upon organised volunteer groups to bolster their efforts in extinguishing the fire, underscoring the community’s commitment to tackling this emergency.
As of now, officials have not disclosed the cause of the fire or whether any evacuations are necessary. The situation remains dynamic as firefighters work tirelessly to protect the area and prevent the fire from spreading further.
