Fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis reported that the blaze is believed to have originated from an electrical fault. The kitchen equipment was severely damaged, and smoke from the fire marred the paintwork throughout the home.
Kitchen fire: Multiple Incidents Reported
This incident was not isolated. Earlier the same day, a fire erupted in a truck used for transporting recyclable materials at approximately 11:29 am. The vehicle sustained damage to both the engine compartment and its interior, with officials suspecting an electrical or mechanical fault as the potential cause.
Fire Service Activity
In the past 24 hours alone, the fire service responded to a total of 44 incidents, which included 18 fires, 19 special service calls, and seven false alarms. Over the preceding week, the fire service had been notably busy, addressing 265 incidents. This comprised 55 urban fires, 32 countryside fires, five road collisions, 26 rescue operations, 109 public assistance calls, and 38 false alarms.
