Community leaders in Kyvides, Pachna, and Souni-Zanakia will distribute vouchers to support a total of 218 students. This initiative aims to ease the burden on families who have faced significant challenges following the devastating wildfire.

PVCC president Elias Demetriou stated, “The council stands by the local communities, and their support is our duty.” This commitment highlights the organisation’s dedication to assisting those in need during difficult times.

In addition to providing vouchers, PVCC is also focusing on ensuring the legality of fundraising efforts. The council aims to crack down on illegal fundraisers to protect citizens and ensure that aid reaches those who truly need it.

Despite the challenges posed by the wildfire, support from the community has been overwhelming. Donations from both individuals and companies have poured in, with contributions including cleaning supplies and food aimed at helping those affected by the crisis.

The wildfire, which struck the mountainous areas of Limassol on July 23, resulted in two fatalities and devastated over one per cent of the island, destroying hundreds of homes and other structures. The aftermath of such a disaster has left many families struggling to rebuild their lives.
