During her recent visit to Cyprus, Pope emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in the context of the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact.

Pope’s discussions with the Cyprus News Agency took place during her two-day visit on Thursday and Friday, coinciding with Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the EU. She noted the constructive relationship between the IOM mission in Cyprus and the Cypriot government, which is pivotal in addressing migration issues.

Pope urged European governments to establish clear strategies to manage irregular migration while also facilitating legal entry for skilled migrants through visa programmes.
