Cyprus and Greece successfully showcased their innovation at GITEX Global 2025, a prominent exhibition held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 13 to 17. The Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA) spearheaded both national delegations, reflecting the vibrant tech landscapes of both nations.
Gitex global: A Platform for Innovation
GITEX Global is renowned as one of the largest technology exhibitions worldwide, attracting thousands of investors, tech leaders, and entrepreneurs eager to explore the latest advancements. The participation of Cyprus and Greece highlighted the continuous growth of their technology ecosystems and underscored the Eastern Mediterranean’s emerging role as a hub for innovation and digital development.
Collaborative Efforts and National Presence
The Cyprus Pavilion was organised by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, with support from the Trade Centre of the Republic of Cyprus in Dubai and CITEA. This collaborative effort brought together 14 Cypriot technology companies, showcasing their expertise and innovations to a global audience.
In parallel, the Greece Pavilion, officially supported by Enterprise Greece and the Federation of Hellenic ICT Enterprises (SEPE), featured five Greek companies making their debut at GITEX. This joint representation not only strengthened bilateral ties but also provided invaluable networking opportunities.
Networking and Future Prospects
Both delegations capitalised on the event to engage with global organisations and technology firms, paving the way for new partnerships and cross-border cooperation. CITEA’s coordinating role was instrumental in ensuring cohesion and visibility for both national presences, effectively connecting Cypriot and Greek tech businesses with the international market.
Notable Attendees and Support
Throughout the event, the Cyprus Pavilion welcomed several distinguished guests, including Minister of Energy George Papanastasiou, Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Skourides, and Ambassador of Cyprus to the UAE Meropi Christophi. Their presence underscored the importance of this event for Cyprus.
Minister Papanastasiou expressed pride in Cyprus’ dynamic presence at GITEX, stating that “innovation and technology are key elements of the country’s strategic development and extroversion.” Chief Scientist Skourides commended Cypriot companies for their high level of know-how and innovation, affirming that “Cyprus has all the resources to play a leading role on the international stage.” Ambassador Christophi voiced her support for the Cypriot business mission, expressing delight in how “Cyprus is being represented in such a positive and professional manner in the United Arab Emirates.”

CITEA extended its gratitude to all supporters and attendees of the mission, emphasising that their participation once again demonstrates that Cyprus innovates, collaborates, and stands out internationally.
