The boy developed a fever on July 8, which led to a series of consultations with his paediatrician. Over the following days, his parents remained in contact with the doctor, who prescribed medication and conducted tests. Despite these measures, the boy’s condition did not improve, raising concerns for his family.
On July 14, after persistent deterioration in his health, the parents insisted on transferring him to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia for further treatment. Tragically, during the transfer, he appears to have suffered irreversible brain damage.
State health services, known as Okypy, have confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the case. Spokesman Charalambos Charilaou stated that they take public complaints seriously, and every report is examined thoroughly and objectively. He expressed sympathy towards the family during this difficult time.
As the investigation progresses, Okypy aims to uncover the facts behind the handling of the boy’s health by both the paediatrician and Limassol General Hospital. The family hopes that answers will be found regarding the delays in diagnosis and treatment that have led to this heartbreaking situation.
