The case began on 17 July 2020, when state veterinary services received a complaint about the living conditions of dogs at the woman’s home. An initial raid revealed three dogs in horrific states; they were dehydrated, suffering from chronic ailments, and one was bedridden. Sadly, one of the dogs did not survive after being taken to a veterinarian.

The court’s decision to suspend the prison sentences was influenced by several factors, including the absence of malicious intent and the significant time that had passed since the offences.
