Nicosia is set to host two engaging events that highlight its rich cultural heritage and culinary scene. The first event, scheduled for February 28, offers participants an opportunity to embark on a guided walk through the city, exploring its contested past and the lasting impact of its history.

Exploring Nicosia’s Complex History

The guided walk, co-organised with the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR), marks the first Nicosia Walk of 2026. Led by facilitator Maria Georgiou, this event aims to provide insights into how national, gender, and social divisions continue to shape the city and influence daily life.

Participants will gather at the Home for Cooperation at 10am, embarking on a two-hour journey that delves into the historical context of Cyprus’s divided capital. The walk is designed to encourage reflection on the enduring legacies of the past, offering a thoughtful exploration of how these divisions manifest in the present day.

A Culinary Evening to Remember

Following the walk, culinary enthusiasts can look forward to the Tasting Series Vol.1 event on March 7, which will showcase the flavours of Cypriot cuisine alongside a selection of European wines. This exclusive dinner, hosted at The Home Café, is designed to provide guests with an intimate dining experience.

Curated by Munevver Gurel, the evening will feature a six-course tasting menu that highlights traditional Cypriot dishes, each paired with carefully selected wines from various European regions. The aim of the event is to narrate a story through food and drink, connecting the flavours of Cyprus with broader culinary traditions.

Starting at 7pm and concluding at 10pm, the Tasting Series promises to be a highlight for food lovers, with limited seating available to ensure a personalised experience. Tickets for this culinary adventure can be purchased via the Home for Cooperation’s website, reflecting the growing interest in Nicosia’s dynamic food scene.
