torture videos — Police are intensifying their hunt for suspects following the shocking discovery of torture videos recorded inside a casino office in Pyla. These videos depict the brutal treatment of seven individuals, revealing a horrifying aspect of organised crime in the Larnaca region.
The Larnaca CID has uncovered a significant number of videos that document the degrading torture, discovered on the mobile phone of a 48-year-old Cypriot remand prisoner. This man, who has a serious criminal history, is already facing trial for an unrelated shooting incident that occurred on 17 January.
In court, it was revealed that the 48-year-old had assaulted a member of the public just hours before the shooting, further complicating his already extensive criminal profile. A 27-year-old Palestinian national has been apprehended in connection with the torture case, while police continue their search for another foreign national believed to be involved.
According to reports from philenews, investigators have identified three of the seven victims featured in the videos. The victims reportedly endured savage abuse, aimed at forcing them to hand over money or extract confessions regarding alleged criminal acts involving the 48-year-old. The case has drawn attention not only for its brutality but also for the ongoing threats against the suspects involved, including a past vehicle arson incident linked to the 48-year-old.
The videos, recorded over various dates during 2025, show extreme violence. In one harrowing instance, a man sits barefoot on a grey sofa, visibly injured and interrogated by the 48-year-old. The victim, speaking Greek, is subjected to violence, including punches and threats of further physical harm.
In another clip, a foreign national pleads for mercy while the 48-year-old strikes him with a metal object, demanding money. This victim is seen bleeding from his nose as the assault continues, with the 27-year-old suspect also reportedly participating in the violence.
Disturbingly, one victim is forced to endure a gun being held in his mouth, adding to the psychological torment depicted in the videos. The footage captures the terror and helplessness of the victims, with the suspects demanding repayment of debts and threatening severe consequences for non-compliance.
Police have thoroughly searched the casino office, seizing multiple pieces of evidence for scientific examination. With over 3,000 photos and videos found on the 48-year-old’s mobile phones, the investigation is described as extensive, with further arrests anticipated as the inquiry progresses.
The Famagusta District Court in Paralimni has remanded both the 48-year-old and the 27-year-old for eight days as investigations continue. The chilling nature of the evidence presented has raised concerns about the broader implications of organised crime in the area.
