Shrek The Musical promises an unforgettable experience at Heritage Private School, where the Drama and Music Departments will showcase their talent on February 27 and 28, 2026.

Shrek the: A Swampy Sanctuary in Limassol

As the Carnival festivities wind down, Limassol will transform into a hub of creativity and laughter at The Heritage Private School’s Multifunction Hall. The venue will be magically reimagined to capture the essence of the beloved swamp from the DreamWorks Animation film, setting the stage for an engaging adventure full of humour and heart.

Journey with Your Favourite Ogre

Shrek The Musical follows the story of everyone’s favourite ogre, Shrek, as he embarks on a mission to rescue Princess Fiona alongside a quirky ensemble of fairytale misfits. This enchanting tale not only entertains but also delivers a poignant message about acceptance and embracing one’s true self.

Celebrating Uniqueness Through Performance

Alexandra Kouris, Head of Drama at The Heritage Private School, expresses the essence of the production: “This show is a celebration of what makes us unique. Our students have worked incredibly hard to capture the humour of the original film while leaning into the story’s big heart. It’s a perfect reminder that ‘beautiful’ isn’t always what you see on social media.”

Meet the Talented Cast

The production features a diverse cast of over 30 students, each bringing their own flair to the iconic characters:

  • Uriel Petel as the loveable, grumpy Shrek
  • Renata Lyukmanova as the feisty Princess Fiona
  • Zacharias Kounnis as the fast-talking, noble-steed Donkey
  • Apollonia Annenkova as the vertically-challenged Lord Farquaad

Collaboration Behind the Scenes

Creating the magic of Shrek The Musical is not just about the performances; it’s a collaborative effort across the school. The Prop and Puppet Making Club has dedicated months to crafting puppets that will play a crucial role in the storytelling, while the makeup team has embraced the challenge of transforming students into their fantastical counterparts with intricate prosthetics and vibrant green makeup.

Zoe Charalambous, who plays the infamous Gingerbread Man, reflects on her experience: “Being part of this show has been an amazing journey. We’ve learned so much about stagecraft, but mostly, we’ve just had a blast bringing these wacky characters to life.”
