drug possession — A 21-year-old was arrested in Larnaca on Thursday evening for drug possession after attempting to avoid a police check. The incident unfolded around 8.50pm when officers from Aradippou police responded to reports of young people causing a disturbance in the Tsiakkilero area.

As police officers approached a parked car, they noticed a person sitting in the passenger seat. Upon seeing the officers, the individual quickly grabbed a bag from beneath the seat and attempted to flee on foot.
However, he was apprehended not far from the scene. A search of the bag revealed 29 grams of cannabis and approximately 60 grams of a white substance believed to be cocaine, along with precision scales.
Following his arrest, police conducted a search of the man’s home, where they discovered an additional bag containing around 42 grams of what is suspected to be cocaine.
