On 12 January 2026, Annita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives and leader of the Democratic Rally (DISY), joined forces with the Democratic Alignment (DIPA) and the Democratic Party (DIKO) in a unified call for immediate scrutiny of the claims made in the video. Demetriou expressed concern that the scandal threatens to compromise the Republic’s reputation, especially as Cyprus holds the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In her statement, Demetriou pushed for the abolition of the Independent Social Support Body, which had been under scrutiny due to its connection to the allegations.
