Building on the success of its inaugural edition, which launched in May this year, the fair aims to establish a vibrant platform for contemporary art in the Eastern Mediterranean. The first edition attracted 27 galleries from Cyprus and 10 other countries, facilitating strong sales and fostering connections among artists, collectors, and art professionals.
This year’s fair will be curated by Kostas Stasinopoulos, a London-based Greek curator known for his role in live programmes at London’s Serpentine Gallery. Stasinopoulos is set to develop a curatorial project that will feature an exhibition and a live programme consisting of film screenings, performances, and talks, all inspired by the theme of waves.
“I am delighted to be curating the curatorial project and live programme for the second edition of VIMA Art Fair,” Stasinopoulos expressed. “Cyprus, and Limassol in particular, offers a unique meeting point between regions and cultures, shaped by histories of movement and exchange. I look forward to working with artists and collaborators to shape a programme that reflects these complexities and fosters new encounters across geographies.”
As an intimate gathering, VIMA Art Fair 2026 will once again be an exclusive event, inviting around 30 galleries, including both commercial and non-profit spaces. Returning galleries include notable names such as Alpha CK Art Gallery, Art Seen by Maria Stathi, and Kalfayan Galleries, alongside newcomers like CAN Christina Androulidaki gallery from Athens and Öktem Aykut from Istanbul.
In addition to the gallery showcases, the fair will introduce ‘VIMA CIRCLE’, a new initiative aimed at enhancing cultural discovery and connection within Cyprus and the Mediterranean. This paid initiative strives to build a community dedicated to shaping the future of art.
