According to police reports, the incident unfolded when the man was driving from Larnaca to Dhekelia. During a routine vehicle inspection, officers from the drug squad, known as Ykan, identified the suspect. As police approached, he attempted to flee, leading to a collision with a service vehicle.

Following the crash, authorities conducted a thorough search of the man’s vehicle, which revealed a nylon bag containing 55 grammes of cocaine alongside a wooden bat. These items were promptly confiscated.

In addition to the illegal substances, the man underwent a drug test that returned positive results, further solidifying the case against him. He appeared before the Larnaca district court on Wednesday, where a six-day remand order was issued while investigations continue.
