The discussion took place at the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (JCCC) in Larnaca on Sunday.

During the meeting, Vafeades emphasised the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the areas of port and airport operations. He noted the importance of friendly states collaborating to improve the quality of life for their citizens.

“We see that friendly states can find ways to cooperate, they can find ways to improve the quality of life of their citizens, by cooperating and exploring fields that can offer value to each country,” Vafeades remarked. Although no new agreements were signed during this visit, the discussions laid the groundwork for future initiatives.

Dr Al Khalifa reflected positively on the meeting, describing it as “very productive.” The dialogue highlights the ongoing commitment between Bahrain and Cyprus to foster partnerships that could lead to innovative solutions in transport and telecommunications.
