Astrobank has reduced its stake in Atlantic Insurance Company Public Ltd, bringing its shareholding down to 5.47 per cent. This decision was made through a series of pre-agreed share sales announced on Tuesday.
Between September 16 and September 19, 2025, Astrobank Public Company Ltd sold 653,500 shares at a price of 2.30 euros each. Prior to these transactions, Astrobank held more than 5 per cent of Atlantic’s share capital.
Emilios Pirishis, chairman of Atlantic Insurance Company Public Ltd, stated that the disclosure of these sales aimed to provide transparency for shareholders and investors. He emphasised the importance of keeping stakeholders informed about significant changes in shareholdings.
The announcement was made via a filing on the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE), where Atlantic Insurance is listed under the exchange’s regulated market. The company clarified that these share sales were part of pre-arranged transactions and not influenced by market pressures or operational changes.
This move marks a strategic shift for Astrobank, which has been a notable stakeholder in Atlantic Insurance. The reduction in stake might prompt discussions among investors regarding the future direction of both companies.
