The altercation unfolded around 11 p.m. on Friday night when a resident was attacked by two other men on his floor. The victim was swiftly taken by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where medical staff diagnosed him with a stab wound to the shoulder, believed to have been inflicted by a sharp object. Fortunately, his condition is stable and he is considered out of danger.
In a commendable act of bravery, a 66-year-old resident who attempted to intervene in the fight sustained a minor injury to his hand. He too was treated at Larnaca General Hospital but was subsequently discharged.
The Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department has taken charge of the case and is currently examining the circumstances surrounding the attack. Authorities are working diligently to gather information that could shed light on the events leading up to the violence.
