The municipality of Ayia Napa has begun replacing old waste bins along Nissi Avenue, marking a significant step towards enhancing the town’s public spaces. This project, which is already underway, reflects a commitment to improving both functionality and aesthetics in the area.

In an official statement, the Ayia Napa municipality outlined that the new waste bins are designed to be more durable and visually appealing. The work on Nissi Avenue is expected to span several days, covering the entire length of the street and ensuring that residents and visitors alike will benefit from cleaner surroundings.

Looking ahead, plans are in place to extend the waste bin replacement initiative to Kryou Nerou Street in 2026. This project is part of a broader strategy aimed at upgrading cleaning equipment and infrastructure in key areas across the town.

Mayor Christos Zannetou expressed his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as the first step in a comprehensive strategy to enhance urban infrastructure in Ayia Napa. He emphasised the local government’s dedication to maintaining public spaces that reflect the town’s international reputation.

“Ayia Napa is globally known for its hospitality and natural beauty, and we have a duty to keep investing in projects that improve quality of life for both residents and visitors,” Zannetou stated. He assured that this initiative marks just the beginning of ongoing efforts to modernise and enhance the town’s infrastructure.
