The ‘Route of Love’ motorcycle ride supports children with cancer and is set to take place from March 11 to 15, 2026. Organised by the nationwide association One Dream One Wish, this annual event is now in its 26th year and aims to raise both awareness and funds for children facing cancer and related conditions.
This charity ride not only highlights the challenges that young cancer patients endure but also serves as a platform to fulfil their wishes. The event has garnered significant support over the years, with the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) being a steadfast partner.
On the morning of the second day of the ride, motorcyclists gathered outside the EAC headquarters, where they received a warm welcome from EAC general manager Adonis Yasemidis. He expressed his appreciation for the riders and volunteers, emphasising the importance of their efforts in providing crucial financial and psychological support to families dealing with cancer.
“The funds raised will allow the wishes of these children to be fulfilled. This is the greatest reward for every volunteer,” Yasemidis said. His remarks underscored the communal spirit of the event, with riders coming together to show that families facing the disease are not alone.
George Penintaex, president of One Dream One Wish, officially launched the event, sending off the motorcyclists with gratitude towards the EAC for its ongoing support. The ride is not just about raising money; it is also about spreading hope and building a network of support for affected families.
As the participants rev their engines and hit the road, they carry with them the hopes of children whose dreams will be realised through the funds raised. The ‘Route of Love’ promises to be a remarkable journey filled with camaraderie, purpose, and the unwavering commitment to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer.
