cypriot businesses — cypriot businesses — The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) is urging local businesses to explore new internationalisation opportunities, particularly in the Chinese market. This initiative aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Cyprus as they seek to expand their operations globally.
- Understanding evolving consumer trends is also crucial, as these insights can help firms tailor their products to meet the specific demands of Chinese buyers.
As part of its efforts, Keve has partnered with the EU SME Centre to facilitate the entry of Cypriot SMEs into China. A significant highlight of this initiative is the upcoming 2026 SME Business Mission to China, which is scheduled from April 13 to April 18, 2026.
Cypriot businesses: Exploring New Markets
This mission will take participants to two major economic hubs, Haikou and Shenzhen, where European firms will have the opportunity to showcase their brands and products. The China International Consumer Products Expo, commonly referred to as the Hainan Expo, will serve as a primary platform for these companies.
During the expo, participating businesses will not only exhibit their products but will also have access to market briefings and dedicated B2B meetings. These engagements are designed to create direct commercial links with potential partners and customers in China.
Support for Remote Participants
For those unable to attend the mission in person, Keve has launched the “Understanding China” webinar series. This digital training initiative aims to provide valuable market intelligence and insights into various aspects of doing business in China.
The webinar series covers a range of topics, including EU–China relations, economic outlooks, risk management strategies, and the complexities of navigating China’s evolving regulatory landscape. Furthermore, sessions focusing on the green transition and digital security are becoming increasingly pertinent for European exporters.
Understanding evolving consumer trends is also crucial, as these insights can help firms tailor their products to meet the specific demands of Chinese buyers.
How to Get Involved
Keve encourages all interested parties to register for the upcoming mission to China or to access the streaming content of the webinar series via its official portal. “The EU SME Centre has made the ‘Understanding China’ webinar series available for streaming, offering European SMEs valuable insights into the Chinese market,” Keve stated in its communication to members.
