On a recent afternoon, around 5:30 PM, a private security guard at a local supermarket noticed a 46-year-old man inside the store. The guard recognised him as a suspect linked to previous thefts of alcoholic beverages. Suspecting the man was attempting to steal again, the guard approached him.

Alongside a 24-year-old supermarket employee, the guard confronted the suspect at the exit. However, the situation escalated dramatically when the suspect brandished a knife, attacking the younger employee and causing a leg injury.

In the wake of the assault, the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was alerted. Officers quickly located the suspect driving in the vicinity. Upon stopping the vehicle, they discovered a knife in his possession and proceeded with the arrest.
