Organised by the Hope for Children CRC Policy Centre, this programme is now in its third year, offering young individuals the chance to hone their leadership skills while grappling with important societal issues.
Child protection: Equipping the Next Generation
Designed for children aged 12 to 15, the summer school aims to arm participants with essential tools to navigate challenges like violence, bullying, and social isolation. Executive Director Andrea Neocleous emphasises the importance of empowering today’s youth to not only protect themselves but also stand up for their peers facing similar struggles. “It is crucial that tomorrow’s adults know their rights and responsibilities,” she states, adding that these programmes foster essential skills for becoming engaged and healthy citizens.
Engaging Discussions and Activities
The curriculum features a variety of engaging discussions and activities that cover critical topics such as cyberbullying, school bullying, racism, and gender-based violence. These sessions encourage young participants to embrace diversity and develop a deeper understanding of hate speech directed at vulnerable social groups. The interactive nature of the programme ensures that children not only learn but also actively participate in addressing these pressing issues.
A Supportive Foundation
Funded by the Andrey & Julia Dashin Foundation, this initiative is free for all participants, reflecting a strong commitment to making this crucial learning accessible. Andrey Dashin, representing the foundation, shares, “Supporting the young ambassadors summer school reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation.” He believes that by equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to tackle bullying, racism, and inequality, the initiative contributes to building a more inclusive society.

Sessions in Nicosia and Limassol
The programme is structured into two sessions, with the first having concluded in Nicosia. The second session is set to take place in Limassol from July 21 to August 1. This structure allows a broader reach, enabling more children to benefit from the programme.
