Adeel Akhtar, a 23-year-old motorcyclist, tragically lost his life following a traffic collision in Strovolos on Saturday afternoon. The incident unfolded around 12:10 p.m. on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, close to the Kalamon roundabout.
According to police reports, the motorcycle driven by Akhtar collided with the rear of a car. The vehicle was being driven by a 39-year-old woman, who had her five-year-old son safely secured in a child safety seat in the back.
Emergency services were quick to respond, rushing Akhtar to Nicosia General Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The driver of the car and her child emerged from the incident uninjured.
