The arrests were linked to various offences, including theft by an employee, motorcycle theft, and public insult.
Police conducted extensive checks across the island, stopping and inspecting 809 drivers and passengers during the operations. This proactive approach not only highlighted their commitment to law enforcement but also aimed to enhance safety within communities.
In addition to the arrests, officers inspected 26 business premises in an effort to tackle offences related to business activities, resulting in two formal complaints. The traffic enforcement aspect of the operation was particularly notable, with police issuing 372 reports for a range of traffic violations. Among these, an alarming 204 were specifically for speeding, underscoring the need for stricter adherence to road safety regulations.
The operations also led to the impounding of nine vehicles, further demonstrating the authorities’ dedication to enforcing traffic laws and ensuring that offenders face consequences for their actions. Currently, 17 cases of suspected traffic offences are under investigation.
